Does This Sound Familiar?
Â
You sit down with your bass, hoping to escape the chaos of life for just a few minutes. But instead of joy, you feel stuck—trapped in this frustrating loop of self-doubt. You’re thinking, “Man, I’ll never play like them. But if I only had the time—and the right plan to stick to—maybe I could get closer.”
I get it. Life pulls you in every direction—work, family, endless obligations. By the time you finally pick up your bass, you’re exhausted. And when you do play, it’s like you’re drowning in information: scales, exercises, theory… none of it sticks.
The result? Guilt. Frustration. And that nagging feeling that you’re not living up to your potential as a bassist.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
My Struggle: Losing My Muse for Bass Playing
Let me tell you—I’ve been there. I’ve spent late nights glued to YouTube, watching players like Hadrien Feraud and Matt Garrison, feeling like a total fraud. I’d think, “How do they make it look so effortless? Why can’t I sound like that?” The more I compared myself to them, the worse I felt. I started to believe I was too old, too far behind, and that I’d never be the player I wanted to be.
It’s a dark place to be, right? But here’s the thing: That belief? It’s wrong.
Between 2007 and 2017, I battled severe neurodermatitis that left 80% of my skin inflamed. The constant itching and pain were unbearable, and it pushed me into a deep depression. My body was exhausted, my relationship with my girlfriend had turned toxic, and I was working nonstop while also taking care of our dog. I was completely burned out.
In the middle of all this, I lost my muse for bass playing. The instrument that had once brought me so much joy now felt like a distant memory. While I was still playing lots of gigs, I couldn’t find the energy or inspiration to connect with it, let alone improve.

The Turning Point: A New Beginning in 2020
Fast forward to 2020. The world was shutting down, and honestly, I was feeling pretty shut down myself. But one morning, I picked up my bass—just for a few minutes—and something clicked.
I started small. Simple routines. Nothing fancy. But it reignited something in me. I began taking lessons with Anthony Muthuraja and dreaming up ideas for a YouTube channel.
For the first time in years, I felt that spark again. But even then, I still felt stuck. I’d listen to players like Hadrien and Matt and think, “What’s their secret? Why do they sound so sophisticated?”
I wanted that sound. Not just the technique, but the soul behind it. And every time I tried to figure it out, I’d get overwhelmed. There was just too much information out there, and with a full-time job, a new relationship, and life pulling me in every direction, I didn’t have the time to dive into it all.

The Breakthrough: Teaching to Learn
Then something unexpected happened. As I started creating YouTube videos, I had to break these concepts down into simple, chewable steps—bass hacks, if you will.
And in doing that, I unlocked the very sound I’d been chasing for years. The melodic minor system, which once felt like this overwhelming beast, suddenly made sense. I figured out how to use it to create those flowing, sophisticated lines I’d always admired.
And here’s the crazy part: The more I taught, the more my own playing improved. Teaching forced me to study harder, think deeper, and truly understand the material. And that’s when everything changed.
Why I Created This Course
This course is everything I wish I’d had back when I felt stuck and unsure of how to move forward. Honestly, I would’ve robbed a bank for a roadmap like this back then (okay, not literally, but you get the point).
I created it for bassists like you—fellow sufferers who know they’re capable of more but feel trapped by life’s demands. I know what it’s like to long for a sound that feels out of reach. And I know how hard it is to find time to practice when life is pulling you in a million directions.
That’s why this course is designed to give you maximum growth in minimum time. It’s not about endless hours of practice or drowning in theory. It’s about real, tangible progress that fits into your busy life.
