FINALLY UNLOCK THE BASS PLAYER YOU KNOW YOU CAN BE — WITHOUT ENDLESS PRACTICE OR OVERWHELM!
Â
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
You sit down with your bass, hoping to escape the chaos of life for just a few minutes. But instead of joy  you feel stuck—trapped in this frustrating loop of self-doubt. You know you've got it in you but right now you're thinking,  “Man, I’ll never get there... if I only had the time, if I only had done things diferently—maybe I could get closer.”
I get it. Life pulls you in every direction—work, family, endless obligations. By the time you finally pick up your bass, you’re exhausted. And when you do play, it’s like you’re drowning in information: scales, exercises, theory… none of it sticks.
The result? Guilt. Frustration. And that nagging feeling that you’re not living up to your potential as a bassist.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
MY STRUGGLE: ALLÂ THE THEORY - NONE OF THE SOUND
Â
Â
Let me tell you — I've been there. I came out of five years of jazz studies with everything I was supposed to have. Modes. Substitutions. Voice leading. Harmonic analysis. I could break down a tune in seconds and name every tension flying by.
And honestly? It paid off. That training got me hired. I built a career playing professionally as a bassist and jazz musician — years of gigs, years of teaching, years of doing the thing I'd worked so hard to do.
But there was this gap I couldn't talk about.
I'd listen to Hadrien Feraud, Matt Garrison, the players I really loved — and then I'd hear myself. The gap was huge. Not only technically. Technically I was fine. The notes were right, the changes were correct, my time and feel was solid.
It just didn't sound the way I wanted.
I'd reach for the same shapes. I'd hear something in my head and watch my fingers do something else entirely. All that theory I'd worked years to absorb — it was in my head, but it wasn't coming out of the bass.
For a long time I figured the answer was more. More transcriptions. More practicing. More books. More hours at the desk. More theory.
It wasn't
A BREAKTHROUGH: TEACHING TO LEARN
The shift happened almost by accident, when I started the YouTube channel.
Suddenly I wasn't talking to fellow students who'd sit through an hour of academic explanation. I was talking to working adults — players with day jobs, families, limited practice windows. People who'd already read the books and were still stuck. Just like I had been.
I had to find a different way to teach this material. So I started building shortcuts. Memory tricks. Visual hooks. Ways to translate dense harmonic concepts into something a player could actually grab and use that day on the instrument.
And here's what I didn't see coming: those shortcuts didn't just help my viewers. They unlocked my own playing.
The melodic minor system — the one that had felt like this overwhelming beast for years — suddenly clicked. Because the gap was never about more information. The gap was about how the information was organized in my head and under my fingers. Once I had ways to recall it instantly, without thinking, the sound I'd been chasing finally started coming out of the bass on its own.
The more I taught, the more my own playing improved. And that's when everything changed.

"This course is exceptionally well designed — clear, structured, and deeply musical. It covers the melodic minor world in a way that’s both systematic and creative, with every idea connected to real phrasing and application. The inclusion of backing tracks in all keys and the overall organization make it an outstanding long-term study resource.
I also feel that the fretboard mapping, the exercises where you fill out sequences from different starting points, and the Improvise- Exercise are especially effective for learning the melodic minor across the entire fretboard — they make the material both visual and musical at the same time.
I can’t really imagine a better or more comprehensive approach to mastering the melodic minor language.”

WHY I CREATED THIS COURSEÂ
This course is everything I wish I’d had back when I felt stuck and unsure of how to move forward. Honestly, I would’ve robbed a bank for a system like this back then (okay, not literally, but you get the point).
I created it for bassists like you—fellow sufferers who know they’re capable of more but feel trapped by life’s demands. I know what it’s like to long for a sound that feels out of reach. And I know how hard it is to find time to practice when life is pulling you in a million directions.
That’s why this course is designed to give you maximum growth in minimum time. It’s not about endless hours of practice or drowning in theory. It’s about real, tangible progress, and applying principles that fit into your busy life.

„I think that Sascha’s lessons in the Melodic Minor Shift are truly a deep dive into the world of melodic minor, I truly love the multiple angles with which he approaches the subject and I think that Sascha’s pedagogy background is absolutely of added value, as he don't only explain the 'what' but also the 'how'. This was extremely helpful and motivating...
...his kind and generous heart speaks throughout the whole course. The way he brings the content it's clear that he cares for everything that he’s expressing and that, makes all the difference.Â
I will for sure, or actually, I already have started rewatching the first module as there is so much to learn for me, and I am really excited about it because to me, MM and its applications is the doorway to modern improvisation language.„

"I’ve been playing bass for nearly thirty-five years but in the last few years I’ve found myself at a plateau in my playing that I just couldn’t escape. When I started working with Sascha, that all changed. Over the last year, I’ve seen my playing grow in ways I never thought possible. Sascha really took the time to understand where I was at as a player and where I wanted to go and created fantastic lessons that have me building new approaches to harmony, rhythm, groove, soloing, technique, and expression. I feel more confident and capable both as a bass player and a musician thanks to Sascha. If you want to level up your playing, I would highly recommend working with him!!"
